Prof Ntziachristos researches the development of novel optical and optoacoustic imaging techniques, sensors and data processing methods. The aim is to develop cost-effective and minimally invasive technologies for the prevention and early detection of diseases in order to enable better health care and treatment of patients. His research covers the entire spectrum from theoretical and methodological approaches and basic research to clinical application and entrepreneurial realisation.
