CRC 1123 Retreat participants in Grainau, 2024
The three-day event gathered over 65 participants for its Annual Retreat, in Grainau, Bavaria. Researchers from the different groups within the CRC 1123 came together to reflect on past advances and share findings in the field of atherosclerosis research.

The program featured 17 project presentations, an interactive workshop and a poster session. We were honoured to host a Keynote Lecture by Dimitrios Tsiantoulas from the University of Vienna on "Dissecting the functions of APRIL in Cardiovascular diseases". The retreat offered an inspiring environment for exchanging ideas, reflecting on the progress made, and charting plans for the future.

A significant highlight of the retreat was the Poster Awards. Simon Ebert and Henrick Wunderlich (Project A3) from the Bernhagen Lab and Kapurniotu Lab as well as Mahadia Kumkum (Project B5) from the Santovito Lab won the Poster Prizes.

We also extend our gratitude to all participants for their outstanding presentations and stimulating discussions, which made the retreat a memorable and successful event!
