Postdoctoral Researcher

The University Hospital of Munich (LMU), is one of the largest and most competitive university hospitals in Germany and Europe. 47 specialized hospitals, departments and institutions harboring excellent research and education provide patient care at the highest medical level with approximately 10.000 employees.

The Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention seeks

6 Postdoctoral Researchers (m/f/d)

with immediate start.

Research area: Immune responses in cardiovascular disease

We offer 6 postdoc positions to study the role of immune mechanisms in chronic vascular inflammation in cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Using atherosclerosis as a disease model for chronic inflammation, the postdoctoral researchers will investigate the cell-specific and systemic effects of inflammatory immune responses in atherogenesis and atheroprogression in mouse models and human samples. Being part of the SFB 1123 , the postdoc positions will benefit from excellent scientific collaborations.

Position 1: ILC2s in chronic vascular inflammation

Position 2: Atypical chemokine receptors and their role on myeloid cells in CVD

Position 3 & 4: Immune checkpoint regulators in chronic inflammation

Position 5: Amino acids and cell metabolism in CVD

Position 6: Endocannabinoid signaling in CVD

We seek:

Eligible candidates should have experience with mouse models, immunological and molecular biological techniques, a strong motivation and team spirit. Successful candidates should hold an above-average PhD degree in biological sciences or a related field and have experience with basic methods of molecular and cellular biology. Solid written and spoken English skills are mandatory. The postdoctoral researchers will work at the Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention (IPEK) at the LMU in Munich, Germany (http://www.klinikum.uni-muenchen.de/Institut-fuer-Prophylaxe-und-Epidemiologie-der-Kreislaufkrankheiten/de/0600-Institute/index.html).

We offer:
